MEET THE PROVIDERS

Valerie is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 9 years of nursing experience working with individuals across the lifespan. She believes in offering care customized to each client's experience. Her treatment modalities include a combination of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology to create patient-specific treatment plans. Valerie believes that together we can change the narrative and begin to lead more fulfilling lives. She believes mental health care is just as important as going to your primary care provider for your annual visits. Her integrative mental health services will allow you to manifest abundance in your life, so you can live the life you desire.

Her primary focus is treating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, and ADHD. Valerie also specializes in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Perinatal mental health (PMH) problems are those that occur during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child. She has completed a nationally, recognized testing program through Postpartum Support International (PSI) to achieve additional licensing as a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C). Her goal is to increase awareness among public and professional communities about the emotional changes that women experience during pregnancy and postpartum. Valerie is also an LGBTQ+ affirmative provider.

Valerie graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Informatics from Stony Brook University. She then went on to Long Island University, to complete her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. After working bedside for several years, she decided to continue her education and complete her Masters In Advanced Practice Nursing with a specialty of Psychiatric Mental Health from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing. Valerie realized there was an overwhelming need for representation and access to Mental Health services. She has witnessed many people shy away from getting the help that they need due to the negative stigma associated with it. Her passion in life has become to normalize mental health and to allow people to feel safe expressing themselves. Valerie is truly committed to excellence in her personal and professional life.
